Upon your arrival in Kathmandu, you will be greeted by a representative from the trek company and transferred to your hotel. The day is free for you to relax after your journey, explore the nearby areas, or do some light sightseeing around Kathmandu Durbar Square or Thamel. In the evening, you will meet your guide and other trekkers, and a briefing about the trek will take place.

Today, you will travel by deluxe bus from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi, the starting point of your trek. The journey takes about 6 hours and passes through Trisuli and Dhunche. Along the way, you will enjoy scenic views of the Trisuli River and the surrounding landscape, with glimpses of the Ganesh Himal. Syabrubesi is a small village nestled in the mountains and serves as the gateway to the Langtang region.

Your trek officially begins today as you head from Syabrubesi to Lama Hotel. The first part of the trek takes you along a trail that follows the Langtang River. The path is forested with oak and rhododendron trees. As you ascend, you will pass small settlements like Bamboo and Rimche. The steady climb leads you to Lama Hotel, a small village surrounded by forested hills. It’s a peaceful place to relax after your first day of trekking.

From Lama Hotel, you will continue your trek towards Langtang Village, which lies at the heart of the Langtang Valley. The trail gradually becomes more open, offering stunning views of the surrounding snow-capped peaks, including Langtang Lirung (7,227m). You will walk through Kyanjin Gompa, where you will begin to feel the high-altitude environment. Langtang Village offers a mix of local culture and amazing mountain scenery, and it’s a great place to learn about the Tamang people.

Today, you will take a short but scenic trek to Kyanjin Gompa, a Tibetan Buddhist monastery located at an altitude of 3,749m. This day offers stunning views of the Langtang Lirung and surrounding peaks. Kyanjin Gompa is a spiritual place, and you’ll have a chance to explore the monastery and enjoy the breathtaking landscapes around. The trek is short, giving you plenty of time to relax and acclimatize.

This is an important day for acclimatization. Staying at a higher altitude without acclimatizing can lead to altitude sickness, so it’s essential to take things slowly. You’ll have the option to do a short hike to nearby viewpoints, like Tsergo Ri (4,985m) or Kyanjin Ri (4,773m), where you can enjoy panoramic views of the entire valley and nearby peaks such as Langtang Lirung, Dorje Lakpa, and Shishapangma. It’s also an excellent opportunity to rest and prepare for the upcoming days of trekking.

After your acclimatization day, you’ll begin your descent. From Kyanjin Gompa, the trail goes back through the Langtang Valley to Lama Hotel. The descent takes around 6 hours and offers a different perspective of the landscape, with beautiful views of the mountains and the forested areas below. This is a relatively easy day compared to the previous ones, and you will stay in Lama Hotel again for the night.

From Lama Hotel, you’ll continue your journey towards Thulo Syabru (Upper Syabru). This village lies at a higher altitude and offers stunning views of the Langtang range. The trail is a moderate climb and passes through lush forests of pine, rhododendron, and oak trees. You’ll reach Thulo Syabru after about 5 hours of trekking. The village offers beautiful views and is a peaceful place to relax for the night.

Today’s trek takes you from Thulo Syabru to Sing Gompa (also known as Chandanbari). The route climbs steadily through dense forests, and you will have an opportunity to spot wildlife such as monkeys and deer. Sing Gompa is a famous place for its monastery, and it offers amazing views of the surrounding mountains, including Langtang Lirung and Ganesh Himal. The trek takes about 5 hours.

This is one of the most exciting days of the trek as you head towards Gosaikunda Lake, an important pilgrimage site for Hindus. Today’s trek takes you over the Gosaikunda Pass (also known as Laurabina-La) at 4,609 meters, offering spectacular views of the surrounding peaks. From the pass, you will descend towards Ghopte Odar, a beautiful, remote area with stunning views of the Langtang and Ganesh Himal ranges. The trek is challenging but rewarding, taking about 6 hours in total.

Today’s trek from Ghopte Odar to Kutumsang offers a mix of descending and flat trails. The path goes through dense forests and offers spectacular views of the Langtang Himal range. Kutumsang is a peaceful village, and after about 6 hours of trekking, you’ll reach it, ready for a well-deserved rest.

On this day, you will descend from Kutumsang to Chisapani, passing through Gul Bhanjyang. The trail meanders through lush forests and traditional villages, with views of snow-capped peaks along the way. The total trek time is around 7 hours, and upon reaching Chisapani, you will enjoy stunning views of the Himalayan range and Kathmandu Valley.

The highest point of the trek is Gosaikunda Lake at an elevation of 4,380 meters (14,370 feet). Altitude sickness can occur at this height, so it’s essential to follow acclimatization procedures to avoid any issues.
The trek typically takes 10-12 days depending on your pace, acclimatization needs, and any extra days you might choose to rest or explore the surroundings.
Accommodation is mostly in local tea houses along the trail. Rooms are basic, typically in twin-sharing format, with simple beds and blankets. The quality of accommodation improves as you reach higher altitudes, but don’t expect luxury facilities.
