Upon your arrival in Kathmandu, you will be greeted by a representative from the trekking agency at the airport. After a warm welcome, you will be transferred to your hotel, where you can relax and unwind after your flight. This day is free for you to explore Kathmandu at your leisure, visit local markets, or simply rest and prepare for the trek ahead. In the evening, a briefing will be held to discuss the details of the trek and to ensure you’re fully prepared for the journey.

After breakfast, you’ll board a private vehicle and drive for about 1.5 hours to Sundarijal, a small town on the edge of the Kathmandu Valley. From Sundarijal, the trek begins and you’ll hike to Chisapani, a beautiful village perched at an altitude of 2,200m. The trek takes approximately 4 hours and offers a peaceful walk through forests of oak and rhododendron, with occasional glimpses of the Himalayas. Upon reaching Chisapani, enjoy stunning mountain views and a tranquil atmosphere perfect for your first night in the mountains.

Today, you’ll continue your trek, heading towards Kutumsang, a charming village nestled at 2,446m. On your way, you’ll pass through Gul Bhanjyang, a small settlement at 2,125m. The walk takes around 6 hours and includes a mix of steep ascents and gradual climbs. Along the way, you’ll be surrounded by lush forests and terraced fields, with opportunities to stop and enjoy the views. Kutumsang, known for its pleasant weather and serene environment, offers a peaceful place to relax for the evening.

Today’s trek will take you to Thadepati, a high-altitude village situated at 3,597m. The journey will take about 5 hours, with gradual ascents leading you up through alpine forests. Thadepati is a great spot for panoramic views of the surrounding mountains, including the Langtang range. As you approach this stunning location, the temperature drops, and the landscape becomes even more dramatic. After a rewarding day of hiking, you’ll spend the night in Thadepati, soaking in the peaceful atmosphere and spectacular views.

On Day 5, you will trek towards Tarke Gyang, passing through the village of Melamche-Gaon. The trek takes approximately 6 hours as you descend from Thadepati into the lower valley. Along the way, you’ll encounter Tibetan-influenced villages, and the path is marked by traditional stone walls, prayer flags, and Buddhist stupas. Melamche-Gaon at 2,560m is a popular stopover, where you can immerse yourself in the local culture before continuing to Tarke Gyang, located at 2,590m. Tarke Gyang is an idyllic village surrounded by lush greenery and offers a glimpse of rural life in the Helambu region.

After breakfast, you will embark on a 4-hour trek to Sermathang, a village situated at 2,610m. The trail from Tarke Gyang to Sermathang is gradual and scenic, offering lovely views of the surrounding mountains. Sermathang is known for its monasteries and Tibetan-style houses, and it’s a perfect place to experience the local culture and religion. As you walk through the village, you will witness stunning views of the Langtang and Jugal Himal ranges. It’s a great place to relax and explore the surroundings.

On Day 7, you will start your descent to Kakani, which is situated at an altitude of 1,340m. This trek takes approximately 5 hours as you pass through forests and charming villages. The trail gradually leads you down to lower altitudes, providing a contrast to the higher-altitude landscapes you’ve trekked through so far. As you descend, you will enjoy the change in vegetation and climate, making for an enjoyable and easier trek. Upon arrival in Kakani, you can relax and take in the beautiful countryside views.

On Day 8, you will continue your trek for about 5 hours towards Melamche Bazaar, a small town in the Helambu region. This marks the end of the trekking portion, and you will be driven back to Kathmandu from Melamche Bazaar. The drive from Melamche Bazaar to Kathmandu takes about 4-5 hours, depending on road conditions. Once you reach Kathmandu, you’ll be transferred back to your hotel. The rest of the day is free for shopping, relaxation, or exploring any sights you may have missed earlier in the trip.

You should pack comfortable trekking clothes, including warm layers, waterproof gear, sturdy trekking boots, a down jacket, a sleeping bag (if necessary), a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, and a first-aid kit. Personal items like a camera, power bank, and toiletries are also recommended.
There is limited access to Wi-Fi in some areas along the trail, but it may be slow and not available in all teahouses. Charging your electronic devices may also incur an additional fee.
Tips for guides, porters, and other trekking staff are not included in the trek cost and are typically given at the end of the trek. The amount is discretionary, but a tip of USD 100-150 per person for the entire team is a common range, depending on your satisfaction with the services.
You can charge your devices in most teahouses, but be aware that it may come with a fee, and the availability of electricity is limited in remote areas.
The best time to trek the Langtang Helambu region is during the spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) seasons. These months offer clear skies, moderate temperatures, and stunning views of the surrounding mountains.
